How Long Does it Take to Restore Stained Glass in Fort Worth Churches?

As all the gorgeous, antique religious stained glass pieces begin to experience irreversible deterioration, it’s pertinent for Fort Worth churches to begin considering preservation. For proper preservation, restoration is necessary in order to prolong stained glass for another hundred years. Religious stained glass provides meaningful messages that are often important to their routine worship process. This lengthy process can return your stained glass to its original glory while preserving these treasures that are so meaningful to congregation members.

Fort Worth Church Stained Glass Restoration Timeline

Our renowned restoration process can take up to a month for a single stained glass window. This comprehensive process begins with an on-site assessment where we determine the structural integrity, causes of deterioration, project size, estimated costs, alongside whether your stained glass is a candidate for repair, restoration, or replacement. Once you’ve decided to undergo restoration for your Fort Worth church stained glass, we remove your stained glass panels and carefully deliver them back to our repair studio. From there, we soak each stained glass window in a proprietary soap wash for up to two weeks in order to remove any buildup from the last century while we remove each piece of glass individually. Each piece is restored by repair or replacement. Painted glass is duplicated by hand while the lead came is fully replaced. This glass and lead restoration can take up to two weeks and ends by solidifying your stained glass with black cement.
